Some Problems Only Show Up at Home
1-Minute Checklist
Quick Checklist — Is In-Home Right for You?
You want problems solved at home: door greetings, guest manners, boundary control, window/yard barking.
You prefer the trainer to come to you and coach with real triggers (doorbell, deliveries, kids, mealtimes).
You can run 5–10 minute daily drills and follow a written plan.
Your dog is safe for an in-home lesson (no bite risk to people; management available).
You want faster generalization before or alongside group/public work.
In-Home Dog Training is Probably not a fit right now if: there’s active unsafe aggression toward household members or visitors (start with a controlled Behavior Consult/Private), the home can’t provide a safe setup (no way to separate or muzzle when required), you can’t commit to daily micro-drills or unified rules, or your goal is strictly off-leash/public neutrality without first fixing home foundations.
We Know What You’re Up Against
- Door chaos, window barking, rushing thresholds, jumping on guests
- Counter surfing, trash raids, table snatching
- Kid/dog energy spikes, over-arousal during homework or meals
- Yard boundary issues, gate bolting, frantic exits
- Crate intolerance, no independent downtime, pacing
- “Training” that collapses the moment visitors arrive
Want door chaos, guest barking, or yard issues fixed where they happen? In-home dog training brings the trainer to you—if you need real behavior change at home, this is right for you.
The Solution: In-Home Training That Sticks
Format:
60 minute onsite sessions; initial walk-through of entries, living spaces, yard. Real-time coaching on door routines, place/station, leash entries/exits, kitchen boundaries.
Who it’s for:
In-Home Dog Training is for households that want doorways calm, guests welcomed without chaos, boundaries respected, and daily life to run without managing a meltdown.
Why it works:
Behaviors change fastest in the context where they’re rehearsed, and targeted environmental tweaks plus new patterns break the loop. Immediate feedback sharpens handler timing and cue sequences under real distractions.
You get:
- Trainer comes to you and maps environment triggers (sightlines, routines, placements)
- Custom plan with real distractions (doorbell, deliveries, guests, kids’ transitions)
- Written drills + between-session support to harden habits
- Progress check-ins and adjustments each session
- Optional follow-up touchpoints; escalate to Private or Group for public proofing as needed.
Prefer structured immersion first? See Board & Train, then maintain via Private Training.
What We Cover
- Door/guest protocol: cue → station within 3 seconds → hold 60–120 seconds while guests enter
- Place/settle: stay parked during dinner, homework, or TV
- Threshold control: waits at doors/gates, predictable yard exits
- Kitchen boundaries: no counters, no trash raids
- Window/yard barking: trigger management + replacement tasks
- Crate/down-time: quiet durations that hold through routine noise
What to Expect (Step-by-Step)
- Free 15-min call: Goals, history, household rhythm.
- Home intake: Layout, entries, kid/pet patterns, problem windows.
- Session 1 (onsite): Install door routine, place, handler mechanics; quick environment tweaks.
- Homework: Short daily drills; written criteria ladder (when to advance).
- Session 2–4(if needed): Proof with doorbell, deliveries, guest arrivals; extend durations, reduce prompts.
- Maintenance: Weekly micro-reps; simple schedule; optional CGC pathway.
Proof It Works
Outcomes You Can Feel
- Doorway routine that holds through doorbells, packages, and multiple guests.
- Quiet window management with a replacement task instead of rehearsed barking.
- Place/settle that survives mealtime, kid traffic, and TV time.
- Boundary respect in kitchens and at gates; no counter cruising or bolting.
- Calmer exits: leash on, cue, pause, controlled step-through—no drag races.

Clients Testimonial
Our clients come to us looking for clarity, confidence, and real change—and their results speak for themselves. These stories show what’s possible when the right training plan meets consistent, compassionate coaching.
We had an exceptional experience with the board and train provided by Alison. We encountered challenges with leash pulling, as my dog exhibited nervousness around other dogs and unfamiliar environments. However, we have observed a significant improvement after training with Alison. She now feels more comfortable around other dogs and enjoys her walks without pulling. Recently, we took her to the dog park, where she engaged with other dogs, displayed increased curiosity, and explored the park independently rather than being tethered to our hip. We received regular updates from Alison, and we were able to view our dog’s activities on Splash’s Instagram stories, which alleviated our own anxieties. We express our gratitude to Alison and the Splash staff for their exceptional service, which we highly recommend.
Alison has been my go-to expert for years now, and she has helped me with multiple dogs. Most recently, she helped me with my rescue, Lola, who was fearful and therefore dog aggressive. It had gotten to the point where we avoided taking her to anywhere we thought could be crowded or might trigger her. After working with Alison, we can now go out in public, enjoy a coffee shop, and even go to a vet visit without worrying about Lola barking and lunging. She is so much more comfortable with other dogs, and her life—and mine—is much fuller. I cannot recommend Splash highly enough!

We were traveling and found Splash to board our boxer. Then we discovered they also offer board and training, so we signed him up, and I’m so glad we did. He is now much more willing to pay attention, sits calmly for longer, and waits at the door until we allow him to cross. I was honestly surprised by how much he learned in just one week. Of course, consistency is key, so we’re also learning how to keep up with the training and support his progress. Allison, the trainer, was absolutely amazing. She sent us videos and pictures throughout the week, and it was clear how much she truly cared for him. He received such great care at this place. Thank you, Splash, for making our travel plans so much easier. It’s such a relief knowing there’s a place where he’s loved and well cared for.
Alison knows what my dog needed right away. They provided solutions to all of my concerns for my dog's training. They also took good care of my dog while boarding him.

Let’s raise a good dog—together.

Managing door routines, curbing window barking, setting kitchen boundaries, crate training, and improving kid-dog interactions.
Walk-through of entries/living spaces/yard; install routines; you practice under real distractions; plan and metrics provided.
Most see results after the first session once the structure is in place. The trainer sets the routine, shows you exactly how to apply it, and you walk away with clear tools you can use immediately. The change starts before the trainer even leaves your home.
We recommend a mat or bed, a crate, and baby gates if necessary. Don't forget a standard leash and collar. We'll provide any additional specifics.

I have a wonderfully sweet, yet full of energy and enthusiasm, 18 month old golden retriever. Toast came back from a weeklong board & train with Alison, and wow, is she on a transformation journey! Her walk is 100% better! Where she used to pull like a maniac, she is mindful and well behaved. She’s learned to sit when greeting people (mostly! lol). We are still is working on self self-control, but she is worlds better! I’m so happy. Alison took time to train me after the conclusion of the week so that I could practice and work on building her skills and until her next week session.
