Why Group Works
1-Minute Checklist
Quick Checklist — Is Group Right for You?
You want structured weekly classes and accountability with other teams.
Your dog is safe working near others (no bite history; no active aggression).
You can attend all 4 weeks and bring required gear (6-ft leash and treats).
You’re aiming for CGC readiness or solid everyday public manners.
Group Dog Training is Probably not a fit right now if: there’s active aggression/reactivity that disrupts class (start with Private/In-Home), severe separation distress prevents calm waiting, or you can’t commit to attendance and homework.
Common Problems We Target
- Jumpy greetings, door chaos, table surfing
- Distracted walks, leash pulling, weak focus around dogs/people
- Wobbly stays and place; recall that collapses outside
- Over-arousal in busy spots: sidewalks, beach paths, cafés, sports sidelines
- A dog that listens at home but not in public
Want structure, accountability, and obedience around other dogs? Group dog training builds focus and manners in small classes—if you want community + real results, this is right for you.
The Solution: Group Training That Sticks

What You’ll Learn (Level by Level)
Basic Obedience — foundation under light distractions.
- Calm door exits and polite greetings
- Marker timing, reward placement, engagement on cue
- Loose-leash walking at your side (no sled-dog routine)
- Sit/down/stand, stay, place, and beginning recall
- Default “leave it,” settle on a mat in public
Advanced Obedience — reliability with real-world pressure
- Tight heeling mechanics and position changes in motion
- Longer duration stays, greater distance and distraction
- Place holds through doorbell, meals, kids moving around
- Recalls through competing reinforcers (dogs, food, motion)
- Neutrality around bikes, scooters, strollers, patio traffic
Competitive Foundations — precision, polish, readiness
- Footwork, finishes, fronts, clean cues, and consistent latency
- Distraction-proofed heeling patterns, formal stays
- Ring-awareness and trial etiquette; confidence under scrutiny
- Prep for AKC CGC, Community Canine, Urban CGC and entry-level competitive work
What Makes These Classes Different
- Progression with purpose: Each level stacks specific criteria; no random drills
- Neutrality training: Calm around dogs/people is trained, not assumed
- OC lifestyle integration: Patios, beach paths, bikes, scooters, crowds
- Coach + plan: You leave with written homework and measurable targets
- Credentials on deck: Judge-led polish, CGC evaluator clarity
- Small groups: More reps, more feedback, faster course-corrects
CGC Track and Certifications
- S.T.A.R. Puppy, CGC, Community, Urban pathways built into the class progression
- Optional CGC testing on-site when you’re ready
- Written criteria so you know exactly what to practice
Equipment and Readiness
- 6-ft leash, collar, and high-value rewards
- Dog must be safe working near others; for reactivity or aggression, start with Private Training or In-Home Training and join groups once neutrality improves

Trainer’s Note
Precision comes from consistent standards and controlled pressure, not from hoping your dog “grows out of it.” The progression, the reps, and your timing do the work.

Clients Testimonial
Our clients come to us looking for clarity, confidence, and real change—and their results speak for themselves. These stories show what’s possible when the right training plan meets consistent, compassionate coaching.
We had an exceptional experience with the board and train provided by Alison. We encountered challenges with leash pulling, as my dog exhibited nervousness around other dogs and unfamiliar environments. However, we have observed a significant improvement after training with Alison. She now feels more comfortable around other dogs and enjoys her walks without pulling. Recently, we took her to the dog park, where she engaged with other dogs, displayed increased curiosity, and explored the park independently rather than being tethered to our hip. We received regular updates from Alison, and we were able to view our dog’s activities on Splash’s Instagram stories, which alleviated our own anxieties. We express our gratitude to Alison and the Splash staff for their exceptional service, which we highly recommend.
Alison has been my go-to expert for years now, and she has helped me with multiple dogs. Most recently, she helped me with my rescue, Lola, who was fearful and therefore dog aggressive. It had gotten to the point where we avoided taking her to anywhere we thought could be crowded or might trigger her. After working with Alison, we can now go out in public, enjoy a coffee shop, and even go to a vet visit without worrying about Lola barking and lunging. She is so much more comfortable with other dogs, and her life—and mine—is much fuller. I cannot recommend Splash highly enough!

We were traveling and found Splash to board our boxer. Then we discovered they also offer board and training, so we signed him up, and I’m so glad we did. He is now much more willing to pay attention, sits calmly for longer, and waits at the door until we allow him to cross. I was honestly surprised by how much he learned in just one week. Of course, consistency is key, so we’re also learning how to keep up with the training and support his progress. Allison, the trainer, was absolutely amazing. She sent us videos and pictures throughout the week, and it was clear how much she truly cared for him. He received such great care at this place. Thank you, Splash, for making our travel plans so much easier. It’s such a relief knowing there’s a place where he’s loved and well cared for.
Alison knows what my dog needed right away. They provided solutions to all of my concerns for my dog's training. They also took good care of my dog while boarding him.

Let’s raise a good dog—together.

I have a wonderfully sweet, yet full of energy and enthusiasm, 18 month old golden retriever. Toast came back from a weeklong board & train with Alison, and wow, is she on a transformation journey! Her walk is 100% better! Where she used to pull like a maniac, she is mindful and well behaved. She’s learned to sit when greeting people (mostly! lol). We are still is working on self self-control, but she is worlds better! I’m so happy. Alison took time to train me after the conclusion of the week so that I could practice and work on building her skills and until her next week session.
